Elections

The Primary Election was held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  The results are:

Mayor – Ron Smith, declared elected (received more than the majority of votes cast)

Council Ward 2 – Ed Lawson, declared elected (unopposed)

Council Ward 4 – Charlene Bybee, declared elected (received more than the majority of votes cast)

Municipal Judge Department 2 – James Spoo, declared elected (unopposed)

The General Election was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018

There were no candidates for City of Sparks on the general ballot as all races were decided during the primary.

The Sparks Advisory Ballot Question: Should the City Attorney remain an elected non-partisan office within Sparks’s government? 36,791 votes were cast, 29,906 (81.29%) yes; 6,885 (18.71%) no (Per the 2018 unofficial summary provided by the Washoe County Registrar of Voters)
