What is Happening this Weekend in Sparks? (July 12-14, 2018)

Enjoy “The Art of Food” all July long. This week is The Art of Food & Our Passionate Local Foodie Scene
• Foodie focus highlights the best local and seasonal food. With the support of Yelp Reno, we will bring you an art installation of some of the most unique and memorable local restaurant reviews.
• Chef Sparky Walsh along with celebrity Chef Ray Duey will showcase his elaborate culinary art creations.
• Kidz Zone will have the little ones learning plating techniques, how to set the dinner table along with test your table manners games.

PLUS! Free art class! Thursdays in July, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. during Marketplace
Sparks Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, 814 Victorian Avenue
All Materials are included. Pre-registration is advised, for all ages and abilities (8+ recommended). This week (July 12) is sketching and painting with watercolors.

PLUS PLUS! Drakulich Art Foundation will be on hand at market to teach how to make paper and fold origami cranes for the construction of the community art project at 39 North Marketplace, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. in July.

Saturday Mornings in July at 11 a.m.
Sparks Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, 814 Victorian Avenue
The very popular Artown “Discover the Arts” project expands to Sparks. The class, “Presentation – Break – Hands-On Work”, is an hour-long program showcasing a different discipline for kids ages 6 – 12. FREE. This week (July 14) features Discover Poetry: Joe Hunt will be teaching us about fun styles of poetry. Come ready to participate and perhaps share your work. This is a Sparks exclusive event.
