Sparks Art Walk and Third Thursday Bring Art and Crowds to Victorian Square

Sparks, NV (Sept. 14, 2021) –The City of Sparks’ Art Walk has partnered with the non-profit group, 39 North Downtown for their monthly event, 3rd Thursday  to bring more people to downtown for smaller and family friendly activities and performances centered around art. This month’s event on September 16 from 4 to 9 pm has a long list of attractions.

Visitors can enjoy guided Sparks Art Walk tours, live entertainment, artists booths, chef demos, and a free movie, “Dream Girls” is hosted by Cordillera International Film Festival. The Sparks Heritage Museum will open the museum, train display and Glendale schoolhouse, free to the public.

More than 20 artists will be on hand to show their work, alongside exhibits at the Depot Gallery, the Sparks Heritage Museum and various restaurants and bars taking part in the Sierra Arts Galleries at Work program.

There are activities for the kids like rock art painting, rock tumbling, and making tee-shirt shopping bags. Performances are spread out throughout Victorian Square on four stages.

“While the public is well aware of Victorian Square because of our large-scale events like Hot August Nights and Rib Cook Off, this monthly event gets people into our downtown to enjoy the incredible things we have like the artwork, the museum and gallery, and the train and school house in a more intimate, low-key atmosphere,” said Francine Burge, Special Event Supervisor.
