Sparks, NV – Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Scheels Turkey Trot and the kick off to the Thanksgiving holiday on November 22 in Sparks. The annual running and walking event is a fun way to get some healthy exercise in before the holiday feast, visit with family and friends, and give back to the community. This year’s event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Scheels.

Turkey Trot participants can choose from a 10K timed run or a 2-mile run/walk. The courses are user friendly for both runners and walkers. The start and finish line will be located in Scheels parking lot at the Outlets at Legends at Sparks Marina.

Early registration will be held through November 15, with an entry fee of $25 per person. The rate thereafter is $30 per person if registering November 16-18 (online only with 11 a.m. cutoff on Nov. 18), $40 if signing up November 19-21 (at Scheels packet pick up only – 2nd floor), and $60 on race day (cash only).

Every runner and walker will receive a long sleeve souvenir shirt, a swag bag, and post-race fruit and refreshments. A portion of proceeds from the event’s registration fees benefit Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and the City of Sparks Youth Scholarship Fund.
