Deer Pool to Open Monday, June 29, 2020

Sparks, NV – The City of Sparks will open Deer Pool to the public on Monday, June 29. The pool will be open daily, Monday- Sunday, with three timed sessions. Each open swim session will be limited to 50 participants on a first come first serve basis. Customers are asked to properly social distance and wear face-coverings while waiting in line.

  • Session 1: 11:45 am – 1:15 pm
  • Session 2: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
  • Session 3: 3:15 pm – 4:45 pm

Customers will be required to bring their own bag to hold their personal belongings and bring that bag with them to the pool deck. Customers will not be allowed to change in the locker rooms or use the showers. Restrooms will be available, and staff will be cleaning and disinfecting between sessions. No swim lessons are being scheduled at this time.

Pricing is as follows:

  • Adult (18 to 54): $5.00
  • Youth: (under 18) $3.00
  • Seniors: (55 +) $4.00
  • Family (up to six members): $15.00
  • Tuesdays: All ages can swim for $2.00

Alf Sorensen pool does not have open swim at this time, but remains open for lap swimming, Aquacise, Physical Therapy, and the Piranha swim team.

Additionally, Alf Sorenson is open for:

Pickleball:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 8:00 to 11:00 am
  • Fridays: 7 to 11 am

Small Wonders Program:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

The Parks and Recreation front desk is available to take class and programs registrations during the following hours by calling (775) 353-2385:

  • Monday – Thursday: 6:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am to 11:00 am
  • Saturday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
