City of Sparks Warns of Slick Roads and Slow Commute This Morning
Sparks, NV – City of Sparks maintenance crews are out in full force this morning clearing the main arterial roadways and want to encourage commuters to drive slow and even delay their commute this morning if at all possible.
“We are focusing on the major roadways including Vista Boulevard, Sparks Boulevard, Prater Way, school zones, school bus routes and public transit routes,” said Community Services Director John Martini. “Please make sure to give our snowplows plenty of room.”
Crews prepped the roads before the storm with a mixture of salt and brine, but the roads remain very slick this morning as temperatures have not reached above freezing.
“Please make sure to drive slow and leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you,” Martini said.
