City of Sparks Partners with PumpkinPalooza to Presents the Purple Pumpkin Pursuit

Sparks, NV – The city of Sparks in partnership with Bill Pearce Courtesy Honda and PumpkinPalooza.org are reimagining Halloween this year by presenting the Purple Pumpkin Pursuit in lieu of the annual PumpkinPalooza event in downtown Victorian Square. The event involves families hunting for purple pumpkins while solving riddles and exploring landmarks in Reno and Sparks. 

Every registered family will receive a PumpkinPalooza Gram which includes a hunt sheet, candy, and other Halloween goodies. Families will also receive one large pumpkin as well as miniature pumpkins generously donated by Raley’s. 

HOW TO PLAY THE PURSUIT: Purple Pumpkins will be hidden throughout the Reno/Sparks community and families must solve the riddles on a hunt sheet to find them. Once all the purple pumpkins are found, families that crack a secret Halloween code have a chance to win a a variety of prizes or one of two grand prize packages.

The Purple Pumpkin Pursuit is designed as a social distancing event where families can finish in an afternoon or over several days. The purple pumpkins will be hidden in their locations from Friday, October 9, 2020 until Halloween on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

PRIZES: The grand prize winners of the Pursuit will receive prize packages that include mobile Halloween parties (family members only) on Halloween, October 31, 2020. All COVID-19 related safety policies will be followed. In addition to many other prizes, families may also win a private movie screening at the Galaxy Theatres in Victorian Square with up to 19 friends. 

REGISTRATION: $45 per family. ​Registration directly benefits the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living.

DELIVERY UPGRADE: For and additional $20, families may have their PumpkinPalooza Gram delivered to their door by people dressed up in Halloween costumes.
