City of Sparks hosting “Rockin’ on the River” event tonight at Rock Park

Sparks, NV – The City of Sparks is continuing its Hello Summer Celebration series by hosting “Rockin’ on the River” this evening, Thursday, July 22, from 5 to 8 pm at Rock Park.

The free event will feature music from local band White Water Retooled and food for purchase from a variety of food trucks.

“Our last event was a huge success,” said Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson. “We’d love for families to once again come out and enjoy an evening of fun–ride or walk along the bike path, eat, dance and enjoy great music.”

The Sparks Public Works Maintenance Department and Sparks H.O.P.E. (Homeless Outreach Proactive Engagement) Team have worked diligently to make the river a safe place for the whole community to enjoy.

The event will be held at the east end of Rock Park, 1515 S. Rock Blvd.

Parking is available at the park and the City of Sparks is offering a free shuttle from the southwest parking lot of Baldini’s Sports Casino, 865 S. Rock Blvd.

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Alcohol is not permitted in city parks.
