Art Programs Coming Up in June in Sparks

Sparks, NV – Don’t miss out on the following fun summer art programs coming up this June in Sparks: 

All Ages Paint & Snack
Students ages eight and older will receive one-on-one guidance in creating their own 16” x 20” acrylic painting during this one day class on Wednesday, June 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Larry D. Johnson Community Center, 1200 12th Street. Class size is limited for more one-on-one instruction in a small social setting for all levels and ages.  All art supplies are included. Attend with family members or a friend. Bring your own beverages/snacks. The cost is $20 per class. To register call Arts for All Nevada at (775) 826-6100 2#.

Disney’s “The Lion King Kids” Summer Theater Camp
A fun summer day camp for aspiring actors, singers, and dancers entering third through seventh grades will be held at the Sparks Museum and Cultural Center located at 814 Victorian Avenue. Courtney Simson, Producing Artistic Director of Truckee Community Theater, is the instructor for this exciting camp. All participants will get a speaking part with all those memorable characters in this thrilling production. Camp dates are: Sunday, June 24 through Saturday, June 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily; Showcase at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1st and an encore presentation on Thursday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Victorian Amphitheater in downtown Sparks. The cost to participate is $225 for the session which includes two snacks daily.  Pre-register online at www.cityofsparks.us/art-classes.
