Arts

For decades, the City of Sparks has been committed to the arts in our community. Our City boasts beautiful public art projects and arts education classes. Our special events host musical acts that engage young and old alike.

In 2016, Mayor Martini and city council enacted a new Arts and Culture Advisory Committee to advise city leadership on opportunities that will encourage the celebration of the city with art and humanities. Check back frequently to see more projects added here. We’ll tell you how to get involved, where things are happening, and how to communicate with us on your projects.

New projects!

The Arts and Culture Advisory Committee is rolling up their sleeves and getting to work. After conducting 5 public input meetings, they are beginning to form a 3-year plan that will set out objectives for the city to accomplish in Arts programming, Public Art, Asset Inventory and check this site for their work and how to give your input. Are you ready to discover your inner artistic abilities? From watercolor, drawing and collage for adults, to acting workshops, art adventures and camps for children, there’s a fun lineup of classes to choose from. We partner with Arts for All Nevada to offer classes for all skill levels to enjoy! Click here for more a list of classes for kids, teens and adults.

The City of Sparks is taking the lead in connecting art organizations in the City of Sparks to encourage collaboration and presentations in July 2017 as part of the Artown Festival. These programs will include 25 different events, classes and performances and designed to reach a wide variety of our citizens. Click here to see the entire line up.
