For Immediate Release
Sparks, NV- The following are highlights from today’s Sparks City Council Meeting:

Sparks City Council confirmed the reappointment of Frank Petersen to the Sparks Planning Commission through December 31, 2021.

Council approved a Cooperative Local Public Agency Agreement (LPA) with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) for a project to retrofit 20 to 30 intersections with audible push buttons. Once the project is complete, NDOT will reimburse the city of Sparks 95% of the total construction cost, not to exceed $256,500.  The potential cost to the road fund is $13,500 in Fiscal Year 2019. These funds are made available to the State through the Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) that are administered by NDOT and used for community-based projects.

Council heard a first reading of an ordinance providing for the conducting and holding of a primary and general election to be held in the city of Sparks on the June 12 and November 6, 2018.
