Registration for City of Sparks Kids Triathlon to Close May 10
Sparks, NV – There’s still time to register for the Kids Triathlon event scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Alf Sorensen Community Center in Sparks. This exciting introduction to triathlons for ages 4 to 14, is the first event in the regional series offered by the City of Sparks, City of Reno, Washoe County and Carson City Parks and Recreation organizations this spring and summer.
The entry fee for the Sparks event is $35 and includes a T-shirt, race bag, and a participatory medal. Scholarship assistance is available for eligible households. Pre-registration is required by May 10 at the Recreation Office, 98 Richards Way, or call (775) 353-2376. Download the registration form online at www.cityofsparks.us.
The Kids Triathlon will feature a swim-bike-run format. Multiple distances will be available based on the age group of the triathlon participants. Races are not timed as the focus is to provide a triathlon experience in a FUN atmosphere. Check-in time is 7:30 a.m. for all age groups.
A pre-race training will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the event site, 1400 Baring Blvd., to give participants a preview of the courses and a rundown of what to expect on race day. Race bags can be picked up at that time or at the Recreation Office, May 14-17, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Participants must provide their own bike and helmet. Helmets are mandatory.
