Deer Park Pool 75th Anniversary Celebration to be Held May 28
Sparks, Nevada – Deer Park pool, located on the west side of Sparks, is a local landmark that has remained a premier recreational site for summer fun since its opening dedication in May 1942. The facility was made possible by President Franklin Roosevelt – New Deal Funds. To commemorate the 75th anniversary, a special celebration will be held on Sunday, May 28, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All ages can swim for $2 each and free refreshments will be provided.
In 2007, the heated pool was remodeled in order to secure its existence for future generations of swimmers. A zero-depth entry design was implemented allowing easy access for all ability levels. It’s a great location for the entire family to swim, with a surrounding park that features picnic areas, basketball courts, and a playground for added enjoyment.
Open swim will be available at Deer Park pool through the Memorial Day weekend. The summer swim season opens June 10 and runs daily through August 6. After that it’s weekends only through Labor Day. Regular pool hours are Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The cost to swim at Deer Park pool is $3 for ages 18 and younger, $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and $15 for families with up to six members. On Tuesdays, everyone swims for just $2 per person.
