Last Friday in Downtown Sparks

May – September (5/26, 6/30, 7/28, 8/25, 9/29)

5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Sparks Museum/Victorian Square

The City of Sparks is teaming up with the Sparks Heritage Museum to bring you Last Friday, the last Friday of the month from May to September. Visit downtown Sparks, see the museum, tour the train and Glendale Schoolhouse for free. Stay late for a free movie with the kids in the Amphitheater.

Last Fridays in Downtown Sparks – May 26, Victorian Square, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Time to revisit your favorite hometown downtown – Victorian Square – it’s where history meets hashtags. Open late, free and staffed with people ready to help you explore:

  • Museum and Gallery: See the latest art show upstairs in the Cultural Center. Explore Sparks’ history downstairs with artifacts and displays.
  • Historic Schoolhouse: The school marm is holding class from the past in the nationally registered historic Glendale Schoolhouse, newly restored for its 150th birthday.
  • Train: The conductor leads a tour through the steam locomotive, a cupola caboose and a Pullman executive car.

Enjoy bands at the Great Basin Stage at 7:30 p.m. Featured performer: Arnold Mitchem

To cap off the evening: Chill out with a FREE family friendly movie in the outdoor amphitheater. Popcorn and ice cream sandwiches for sale. Bring your blanket and chair … might as well bring the family too. Movie Featured: Napoleon Dynamite.  Movie starts at dusk.
