Stephen W. Driscoll, ICMA-CM
Stephen W. Driscoll joined the City of Sparks in 1994 as a Budget Analyst. In 1995, he became the Administrator of the Sparks Municipal Court. In 2000, he was appointed to Assistant City Manager. In March 2014, Mr. Driscoll was appointed City Manager by Sparks Mayor Geno R. Martini and confirmed by the City Council.
Mr. Driscoll has been instrumental in the implementation of the city’s reorganization in 2009 under the Sustainable Sparks Service Initiative project, the city’s current Strategic Plan, Performance Measures reporting and Core Service-based budgeting programs. He is currently leading the management efforts in city-wide Innovation improvements utilizing “the Four Disciplines of Execution” methodology of project management for a complete review of all city services, programs and the completion of goals and objectives of the city.
Prior to his work in local government, Mr. Driscoll held management positions in national companies in the retail, manufacturing and technology sectors.
Mr. Driscoll is a fourth generation Nevadan. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in accounting and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Driscoll is recognized as a Credential Manager by the International City/County Manager’s Association and he is a Certified Government Financial Manager, and has been active in numerous local and national associations including serving as past president of the Nevada Local Government Managers Association of Nevada.
Steve and his wife Carol have been married 32 years, and have two sons, Sean and Christopher.
