Sparks Annual Hometowne Christmas Parade:

Celebrating 150 years of Nevada Heritage

We’re making all things new by celebrating all things old! Our Hometowne Christmas Parade: Celebrating 150 years of Nevada Heritage will not only kick off our holiday season, but also celebrate the Sesquicentennial - 150 years of Statehood of Nevada!  Come downtown on Saturday, December 7 for a traditional Christmas parade along with entertainment, photos with Santa, and arts and crafts. The tree lighting ceremony will be Friday night with the parade on Saturday at 1pm.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Hometowne Christmas Parade

Come down early and get hot chocolate compliments of Living Stones Church. Check in on Santa at Santa’s Village in the Schoolhouse, where the elves from the Boys and Girls Clubskeep the Santa in the “ho-ho-ho” mood. Enjoy great Christmas shopping (and get out of the cold) at the Hometowne Craft Faire in the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center, Victorian and Pyramid Highway.

City of Sparks Toy Drive:

November 7 to December 7

Last year, the City of Sparks gathered over 400 toys and $500 in donations for the first city-wide toy drive with Swire Coca-Cola and Toys for Tots. Bring your gift to the Parade, drop it off at one of convenient locations or join in the fun with your favorite tacky Christmas attire with Sheels’ Ugly Sweater Run.

Give your gift directly to the Coca Cola Polar Bear and Marines during the parade as we STUFF THE TRUCK with toys for boys and girls in our area.
